Designed to support dual drilling modes—DTH air hammer drilling and mud rotary drilling—the TWD400 adapts seamlessly to soft soil, sand, rock, and mixed formations, eliminating the need for separate rigs for different site conditions. Core Drilling Performance
The TWD400 boasts a maximum drilling depth of 400 meters, with a wide borehole diameter range from Φ90mm to Φ450mm, covering most domestic and commercial water well demands. Its hydraulic rotary head delivers powerful torque output of 6900–9000 Nm, paired with adjustable rotation speeds between 70–140 rpm, allowing operators to fine-tune drilling parameters for hard rock or loose sediment.
The rig supports three standard drill pipe sizes: 89mm, 102mm and 114mm diameter. Standard drill pipe length is 6 meters.The feed stroke reaches 6.6 meters. It features a maximum feed speed of 60 m/min and lifting speed of 30 m/min, alongside a heavy 20-ton pullback capacity to handle stuck drill pipes safely. An integrated 1.5-ton auxiliary winch further simplifies tool and casing handling on-site.
Stable Power & Optional Supporting Systems
Powered by a reliable 93kW 4-cylinder water-cooled YUCHAI diesel engine, the TWD400 maintains stable power output under continuous heavy-duty operation and suits remote job sites without grid electricity.
For air DTH drilling, it works with an optional air compressor that supplies 15–30 Mpa working pressure and 1.5–2.5 m³/min air consumption. For mud rotary drilling, a standalone BW450 mud pump is available as an accessory, offering 450 L/min displacement and 2 Mpa discharge pressure to ensure smooth cuttings circulation.
Mobile Wheeled Chassis & Site Adaptability
Unlike crawler rigs limited to muddy mountain terrain, the four-wheel self-propelled chassis delivers outstanding road mobility. With a 305mm ground clearance, the rig easily navigates uneven farmland, village dirt roads and temporary construction paths. The total net weight of the machine is 6200 kgs, with compact transportation dimensions of 5060×2200×2600 mm, enabling convenient haulage by flatbed trucks without disassembly. Four independent hydraulic outriggers provide solid leveling support during drilling, guaranteeing stable operation on sloped and uneven ground.
